At Kellogg, Brendan is focusing his studies in strategy, finance and leadership. He has participated in several experiential learning courses that led him to study entrepreneurship in Vietnam & Myanmar and work on an analytical consulting project with the Chicago Bulls. Outside the classroom, Brendan has served as auction director for Charity Auction Ball and as an executive team member for Kellogg Worldwide Experiences & Service Trips (KWEST), which send 1000 students to over 40 destinations around the world each year.

Brendan graduated Magna Cum Laude with a degree in Economics. While at DePauw, Brendan developed a program allowing students to use meal cards at local restaurants resulting in an annual infusion of  approximately $200k into the local community. He also served as an advisor to the University President as part of the Campus Planning Committee. The committee developed the Campus Master Plan with the aim of guiding the development of DePauw’s buildings and grounds to support and nurture DePauw’s strategic objectives.

Developed strategy and accompanying analytical model to identify incremental sea freight opportunities; combining demand, inventory and production capacity data, the model automatically ranks specific product/region intersections based on likelihood of success in switching from air to ocean freight.

Executed a broad spectrum of deal-related work streams for three separate acquisition targets. Built 2 LBO analyses, reviewed 3 CIMs, prepared 2 Indication of Interest (IOI) letters and 1 Letter of Intent (LOI). River Hollow Partners is a lower middle market private equity firm that focuses in the consumer, retail, manufacturing and business services sectors.

Finance Manager, 2012 - 2016

While based in South Africa, Brendan spent the majority of his four-year assignment traveling across the continent as he led finance activities for new business ventures in Africa. Brendan’s experience included three organic ventures, one joint venture and one acquisition – spanning 20 African countries and collectively contributing over $100M in revenue. In addition, Brendan led several regional and country-level strategy projects and launched a finance development program that created ten new jobs for recent graduates in its first two years.

Financial Analyst, Finance Development Program, 2010 - 2012

Brendan gained exposure to different areas of finance through six-month rotations in operational finance, business-unit level financial analysis and internal controls (internal audit and SOX). He served as project liaison for one of Cummins four business segments on the team responsible for development and implementation of a new global financial consolidation system. Brendan championed customizations to enhance system’s analytical capabilities and training for over 50 users on six continents.
